First step, breakdown X61
Second step, clean the fan and add lubrication. The lubrication is difficult to get. I get a kind of lubrication like this.

Although the seller tell me it's a kind of "aero-lubrication", I don't think so. Surfing on baidu, I think it's a kind of "White plastic gear lubrication".
It works well. no noise and the fan is lubricated very well. It can resist termperature up to 150C with good resistance to abrasion. It has a stable and long life time bearing capacity. It cost me 30RMB. If I just use it for my X61, I couldn't use it up in my lief time. anyway, I like it. Please don't use sewing machine oil and other kind of oil having no attribute of resisting high temperature, for the fan is usually work under higher temperature if the airflow in your laptop is not good. High temperature will vaporize the oil with out resisting temperature ability. |
Third step, assemble the X61 and light on it.
