At first glance of the topic , it is maybe a little sensible ,the speaker claims that we can usually learn much more from the people whose views we share than from people whose views contradict our own. But when I think twice , the further reflection reveals that it is not just easy on the surface as it looks .we should bring the topic to a dialectical analysis.
admittedly , I have to point out that , indeed , we can of course learn much things from the people whose views we share because we have the similarities on the problems so we can learn from each other to deep our understanding. When I come to the algorithm study of Suffix Array, I usually turn to ACrush for help, who is the real topcoder in the world when we mention the coders in the world and he is also the No.1 in topcoder web site -www.topcoder.com/tc. From him , I learn more about the suffix array and I eventually get a deeper understanding of the algorithm. In fact , I have to think him a lot .So , from the case , we can easily draw a conclusion that we can learn much more from people whose views we share because maybe he can bring you to a deeper understanding.
But on the other hand, we can't deny that the contradict views are very significant and necessary , since the different views can help us correct our mistakes . Take one person for example , vinsalius,a surgeon , who is considered to be the most famous person in the history , challenged the theory
of Galen in that field , who was in dominate for a long time .The result later proved that vinsalius was right and it help the public to have a correct understanding of human body.
And history need different ideas. In many situation , the different ideas is the source to the advancement of the history . Without it , the watt can't invent the steam engine and we can't own such a rapid speed of development and of course we can't step into the modern age.Without it ,the Edison will not invent the light bult , the human beings will still live in the dark , it is awful ,right? And without it , maybe the earth is still the center of the universe and the earth is still flat. Maybe it is a little uncredible , but if we are in the situation without the ideas differ from the previous ones, those imaginations will be possible.
Ok, to be more objective , I still have to remain you of being careful with the ideas that are contradict our own. Not every idea that differs from us is a good one.A different idea, maybe if of value or not ,we should not trust it easily and also we should not rule it out without our consideration.The best way is to give it the proper analysis after you take action and with the method you can adopt the correct idea , abandoning the uncorrect. In my eyes , it is also a character that every student need to own so that we can have a dialectical view to one given issue.
OK, to sum up. The speaker's assert is not very sensible because it is just meaningful in one side , omiting the other. To be objective , we have to notice that not only we can learn much from the people whose views we share but also we can learn much from that people whose ideas are different from us . The different views are very significant to person's life and to the history of all human beings of all around the world. We should learn to have a dialectical views toward the two sides.As a student , we must have the skill to tell which is wrong and which is not when we encount with a idea which is contradictory with our own becasue it is a basic principle to all student in modern age.

"Previous experience has shown that our stores are most profitable in areas where residents are highly concerned with leading healthy lives. We should therefore build our next new store in Plainsville, which has many such residents. Plainsville merchants report that sales of running shoes and exercise clothing are at all-time highs. The local health club, which nearly closed five years ago due to lack of business, has more members than ever, and the weight training and aerobics classes are always full. We can even anticipate a new generation of customers: Plainsville's schoolchildren are required to participate in a 'fitness for life' program, which emphasizes the benefits of regular exercise at an early age."

When I scan the argument first , it is a little sensible ,but when I think twice , I think it is not so credible on the surface as the speaker said. The speak draw a rash conclusion that they should build their next neew store in Plainsville.As far as I can see, the article suffers from many flaws.
At first , the author fail to build the relationship between the profit and the store which he plans to build.The experience is previous , it can't stand for the situation today.Maybe in nowadays , the stores can not make any money,right?
The author also mentioned that the people in Plainsville concerned with leading healthy lives.At first , we have no evidence that can prove the people concern with leading healthy lives. The merhants' report can only prove that the sales of running shoes and exercise clothing are good ,it can't tell us the people like to lead healthy lives.And the case of local health club is the same, it can just mean nothing. I wonder why the club closed five years ago, maybe the real cause is the people don't have the need to lead a healthy lives.
OK, the last students' evidence , maybe a little sensible.But further reflection reveals that even though they have to participate in the program by force ,they also have no need to be the buyers of the store.
Ok , as I analyzed above , the author fail to build a relationship between the healthy lives and the evidence.Even though the citizens there really need a healthy lives , they also don't need to buy the things in the store , maybe it is very expensive,or they don't like the style and so on.
The speack fail the think the other methods that can make profit.
Even though the people there really like to go to the store that the speaker want to build , it has still some problem because maybe it is not profitable. First , you can't know how many people will buy your products and secondly, maybe the cost is very high and you can't make money at all ,you need to pay a lots of tax and other kinds of payment so that you can not ensure that your store will profitable.
OK, in my eyes, the argument is full with all kinds of flaws. the speaker build a worng relationsip between the healthy lives and the profitable store.And the eviendences he use is also full with flaws .So I have to remind you to have a dialectical view to this argument and if I was the speak in the argument , I should think twice before I draw this conclusion.
