ThinkPad SL400, Core2 5840, 250G Hardrive, 3G DDR.
Software:
1.
Windows Vista is pre-installed.
2. I need to keep the windows
vista for 15days after I get the notebook from the sales, otherwise
they do not agree to change without condition in that time frame.
Ubuntu can be installed as a application software of the
windows vista. I do not need to uninstall the windows and the vmware
is also unneccessary.
The installation is quite simple:
1.
You just need to download the latest image of the ubuntu OS, from the
http://www.ubuntulinux.org/. It it easy to find the place to "Get
Ubuntu”.

Prepare
the virtual tool for DVD/CD ROM, such as the DAEMON or WINISO.

Mount
the ubuntu OS image file to the virtul DVD/CD ROM and double click
the ROM DISK token in the my computer under window vista.

You
will see 3 options in the popped grahical menu, click the “install
inside windows”

There
should be no any issues during the installation. After that, just
reboot the computer.

After
the reboot, you will see the options of start – windows or ubuntu.
If you want to enter the ubuntu, just slect it before time
expiration.

Now
enjoy the trip to ubuntu.
You
can set the default start OS under the windows:

Enter
the windows vista.

Right
click the “computer” and select the Property.

Click
the “Advanced Setting” and enter the “启动与故障恢复”,
you can see the choice of
windows/ ubuntu at the top the selection tag. Choos whatever as you
wish.
